Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her EP Pho. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music onto the internet back in 2012 after she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. On 21st of July 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. Later in the year, her music was played all over Dreamville. The announcement that she would sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was a track she recorded with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox guested on two tracks by EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video was also released on September 5th. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two additional singles were also released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then made the track available as a solo single on her first album. In February of 2019, her music video to the track debuted. The song has received over 3 million YouTube views in just one week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
